Adventurous Arizona, Utah & Nevada Family Trip
This family trips has been on my bucket list for years. I wanted to make sure that we did it between March and May so it wasn’t too hot. However we like to go skiing for spring so it just never worked out during Spring Break. Finally we made it happen! It takes a lot of planning and it’s not a restful trip by any means but so worth it!
This has been our FAVORITE family trip so far!
What I did was I made a list of all the places that I wanted to go and interviewed a few friends that had gone. I then talked to a Travel Agent and got their advice. The travel agency we used was Mena Travel (@menatravel). The person who helped us with all the bookings and get our trip organized was Eddie.
I would say you need to do this trip anywhere from 7 to 10 days! We wanted to stay longer but we had to get back for baseball.
So we flew from Miami to Phoenix. We rented a car and drove to Sedona (about 2 hours away).
Sedona
We stayed at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona. I had heard so many great things about this place. Now this is a very high-end place to stay, but I knew I wasn’t coming to Sedona many more times and I wanted to make it a trip to remember! This resort did not disappoint! You could really do it as a romantic getaway, couples getaway or a family travel.

Saturday
My favorite excursion was the Pink Jeep Tours we did! We had such a blast and had the best time of our lives! I suggest you going with another family just because it makes it more fun. We laughed nonstop and the views were unforgettable.

After our amazing excursion we stopped for lunch at 89 Agave.
89 Agave @89agavecantina
The best Mexican food I have ever had in my life!
We had dinner at Mariposa. I suggest that you book this a month early and definitely try to book your dinner during sunset. Incredible view and the food is insane.
There are so many fun Hikes in Sedona. At the Enchantment resort they have so many ranging from 1 mile to all day ones.
Best places to visit in Sedona for lunch or dinner:
Elote Cafe, The Hudson, or Che Ah Chi
I had heard so much about this fine dining restaurant called Che Ah Chi. We had dinner here and let me tell you the food was delicious and the scenery was incredible. Later we went star gazing to wrap up the evening. The sky is so clear out there!
I have a whole new appreciation for the prickly pear margarita here in Sedona. If you know you know! They are so dang good out here!
At our hotel they do STAR GAZING on Saturday nights. They have a professional there that brings all his gear… it is really cool!
Sunday
We went to visit the Grand Canyon! I had been wanting to see this natural beauty for a while. I would say this was a day filled with adventure: Açaí bowls, a hike to Subway Cave, and the Grand Canyon.
The drive to the Grand Canyon was insanely gorgeous. This canyon is MASSIVE...what a site! Gods creation is so detailed.
Monday
The hiking paths out here are incredible! On Monday we did Devils Bridge. 4 miles of adventure for the family! We had a few wining comments, “it’s hot,“ “how much further“ comments. However we all pushed through and finished! So worth it! Got our Açai bowls... so refreshing after that hike.
Had lunch at Picazzo’s an amazing Italian restaurant in Sedona. I highly recommend!
Tuesday
We then drove to Paige, Utah. They don’t have a whole lot of hotels to stay here. Don’t think you’re gonna be staying in luxury! However you are there to sightsee and see Horse Shoe Bend, Lake Powell , and Antelope Canyon.
Horse Shoe Bend in Page.... the sunset is absolutely breathtaking. I suggest you go see it at sunset!
Wednesday
We went to see Antelope Canyon! Book the tour! It’s best to see the Moyer canyon early in the morning. We did our tour at 7:30am.
So worth seeing! Incredible photos! Antelope Canyon was better than I imagined It is run by an Indian preservation
and so it was the only place we had to wear a mask. Get your cameras ready and dress comfortable!
From noon to 4pm we went to Lake Powell. We booked a boat in Lake Powell and KO drove us. You do have the option to get a captain if you would like. The lake is low but it had enough water to obviously be able to rent a pontoon. We let the kids jump off caves and rented a raft. The kids had a blast!
Later we checked in to Under Canvas. I’m not big into camping but I wanted to experience glamping in Zion at Under Canvas. Let’s just say if you’re ever going to glamp you want to stay there. It was such a cool experience! I highly recommend 1 or 2 nights. The tents are high end with nice beds, showers, and decorated nice for camping. The food and hospitality was great! Kids loved it!

Thursday
Got up early and drove to Zion National Park. Talk about incredible! It looks like rock castles are everywhere. How majestic and different! We hiked “The Narrows”. Highly recommend… what an experience! The water is 50 degrees in May. We rented waterproof sock, boots, & got canes from Zion Adventure Company (@zionadventurecompany). I highly recommend renting all that gear because the rocks are swift. This way you will be more comfortable.
It takes about a 40 minute bus ride from the rental company to get down to where you’re going to hike. Then you hike about a mile and then you start hiking in the water it is such a cool experience! The hike the whole narrows it takes about 4 miles up and back! I suggest if your kids are older to do the whole thing if not just to go halfway. This was one of their favorite excursions!
Later that day we drove to Las Vegas! It was the best flight out and we wanted to give the kids a fun experience, even though Vegas is more of an adult city. Their eyes were huge looking at all the lights, hotels at GRANDNESS! Totally priceless seeing their faces! We stayed at the Wynn because we have stayed there before and absolutely love this hotel. We got a regular room and then upgraded to a suite. The suite was absolutely insane! Let’s just say it had a massage room in it!
Wynn Las Vegas @wynnlasvegas
We took the kids shopping, toured hotels, people watched, and went to a nice dinner! Overall this trip was our favorite! The kids are at the perfect age to appreciate it. They thanked us countless times for how much fun they had.
Definitely suggest taking this trip you will not regret it.
Once again, my recommendation are to take comfortable travel wear. Take lots of athletic wear: leggings, light shorts, comfy tops, sneakers, fanny pack, light jackets, hats, etc. Attached below are links for travel looks . Basically clothes you can take off when getting hot or adding if getting cold.
